A customer at a computer store, first working for one of the store owner's employees, then becoming a friend of the owner. This was the chain of events that brought Raoul and Mahmoud together under the umbrella of "trust."
In Daraa, Syria, the two lived until 2011, the year the Syrian revolution began. This revolution prompted Raoul to return home and Mahmoud to emigrate to Switzerland. Despite the geographical distance, their hearts remained connected, and their minds continued to exchange ideas. Little by little, the idea for the art shop "Zaqouma" was born.
Despite the name's unusual nature, it refers to the beak of birds. The beak of a toucan is considered one of nature's most creative forms, its colors and size a source of wonder.
Now, Zaqouma's reach extends from Switzerland to Jordan, telling a story of friendship and creativity that will continue to grow, enriched by all those interested in artistic innovation and progress.
